news culture The Last of Us: Actor Pedro Pascal shares some information about the live-action series
The HBO-produced series The Last of Us is one of the most anticipated adaptations. The series can be expected in 2023 at best, and we still regularly discover new people working on the project, new photos or new details on the direction it is taking.
Following the game’s plot by adding different lighting, The Last of Us will see Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) in the skin of Joel, Bella Ramsey in that of Ellie, while Gabriel Luna, Anna Torve, Merle Dandridge and Storm Reid will play Tommy, Tess, Marlene and Riley.
The very visible Cordyceps infection on the show?
Present at the South By Southwest Festival, Pedro Pascal was asked about the atmosphere of the shoot and the immersion offered from the decorators, the makeup artists and the production. He confirmed that he had a great time, that he hopes he managed to embody his character well, but also that he was fine surrounded by spurs and clickersthose Cordyceps zombified humans that produce a particularly annoying noise, which has become an icon. A good way to imply that the actors were totally immersed in-universe, but viewers will have to wait to find out if the rendering lives up to its ambitions.
The board is covered in clickers, spurs and Alberta elements and we’re having a blast. It’s really exhausting and I don’t know if we’ll be able to do it (to make something great, ed.), but it will really be worth it. It’s fantastic and I’m having a great time. But I don’t know if I can do it (laughs).
Launched last July after a long pre-production phase slowed by the pandemic, Filming seems particularly exhausting for teams and actors. Production is scheduled to be completed in the coming months, but will then enter the post-production phase before the series airs. At the moment we are only entitled to a limited number of official images and photos/videos taken on set. but we’re still waiting for the first trailer.
