As we told you at the beginning, one of the fundamental characteristics of these ASUS keyboards is the fact that they are able to work with three different connection methods: via the usual 2.4 GHz RF, via Bluetooth and via USB cable included. . According to the manufacturer, the Radio frequency mode is the one that offers the best autonomy, with up to 76 hours of continuous use (with the lighting on, if you turn it off it is even more) without having to worry about the battery charging. Plus, Bluetooth connectivity lets you have the keyboard connected to three devices simultaneously and switch between them with a key combination.
Another novelty that can be found in these Strix Scope keyboards is the use of custom mechanical switches by ASUS, which they have called ROG NX and which, like the original Cherry MX and many others, have different versions named in color function. According to ASUS, these switches feature individual illumination per key, providing instant, wobble-free bounce for greater durability and accuracy while typing.
ROG Strix Scope NX Wireless Deluxe can be equipped with ROG NX Red, NX Blue or NX Brown switches, which offer fast actuation with different force curves for users to choose the one they prefer. Note that the NX Blue switches only offer 0.1mm actuation and, as the name suggests, they offer tactile feedback and click sound. For its part, the TKL model is only offered with the NX Red and NX Blue switches, which are optical-mechanical.
In both keyboards we find capital letters in Double shot PBT that combine a premium feel with great durability. In addition, ASUS has incorporated a layer of acoustic foam to relatively silence keystrokes, so according to the manufacturer, both keyboards can be included in the category of silent keyboards, which gamers who are fanatics of silence will greatly appreciate.
Of course, and despite the fact that they are wireless keyboards, ASUS has taken into account that their objective will be gaming and, therefore, they are equipped with features that cannot be missing in a keyboard designed for the game, such as its polling frequency of 1.000Hz which gives us a response time of just 1ms, its full anti-ghosting capability (Complete reversal of the N key) so that there are no problems when pressing multiple keys simultaneously, and its ability to record macros and assign them to any key.
However, these keyboards also have many media shortcuts which we can activate using the Fn key, with which the Quick Toggle functionality (Fn + Insert) is also activated, a special function that changes the upper row of the keyboard between the function commands (F1 to F12 keys) and controls the multimedia, so the user has quick and easy access when they want to use the keyboard for multimedia functions and not for games.
Finally, it should be added that both keyboards have an integrated lithium-ion battery (Li-ion) although ASUS has not specified its capacity.
Flag design and quality
As you can see at a glance with the images we’ve attached to this article, ASUS has taken extra care in designing these ROG Strix Scope keyboards; Thus, an aluminum sheet is included on the upper part of the keyboard to give it greater rigidity and a feeling of quality, while the keys are, as we have said, made of PBT Double Shot plastic which has a great resistance to rubbing and abrasion. while allowing the light from the switches below to pass through without any problem.
Likewise, both keyboards have a soft wrist rest of magnetic anchor which can be easily put on and taken off, and that it is made of viscoelastic foam inside so that we can use the keyboard for hours and hours without feeling fatigue in the wrists because of it. Soft and plush to the touch, these palm rests feature the ASUS ROG logo on the right side and are built to last even if your hands or wrists sweat.
All this is supported by 2 years warranty directly with the manufacturer, so that the user who decides to buy one of these two keyboards can be sure that in the event of a problem, the manufacturer will respond in accordance with its warranty policy and will take care of the repair or replacement by a new one.
Price and availability
As of this writing, ASUS has yet to announce the price and availability date for these two keyboards. It is obvious, however, that given their quality and materials of manufacture, as well as their characteristics, they will be keyboards included in the high-end range of the manufacturer and, therefore, their price will be quite high (we estimate that ‘from 150 Euros for the complete model and 120 Euros for the TKL model, which should logically be a little cheaper).
ASUS has not indicated the date of availability of these two keyboards either, so we will have to wait for the official launch to know both the date of availability and the price at which they will be sold in stores.
