The studio, based in Stockholm, was formed in 2021 by the founding members of veteran studio Avalanche, including co-founders Linus and Viktor Blomberg. The intention of the study is to createhigh quality open world experiences from a creative and financially independent position. Their first self-created IP is currently in development.

The team in this new studio is made up of workers with experience in other large companies. The aforementioned Avalanche, but also we find ex-members of DICE, Epic Games or Ubisoft. They also have experience working with the Unreal Engine, and participated in the world of cinema and series, nothing more and nothing less than Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, The Mandalorian O Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

Elemental Games in the words of Linus Blomberg

Linus Blomberg, its co-founder, commented the following on the ad of its foundation.

“Our years in the AAA gaming industry have been rewarding and given us a lot of experience, but it’s also frustrating sometimes. Large companies are often limited in their ability to break the mould, due to investors’ focus on financial goals short term. in this environment it is difficult to do exploratory development and be innovative. Also how to advance the medium in areas such as gender stereotyping and the romanticization of violence.

“Our ambition is to bring together the best of AAA and Indie development, taking a team with extensive box office experience. But also driven by his personal passion for the profession and with total creative and financial independence.

“We have seen in the past how technology, art and design are often in conflict instead of uplifting each other. We are therefore creating an environment where none of these disciplines dictates the others, where we use our experience and know-how in a truly collaborative way. It opens up opportunities that we wouldn’t even have considered in isolation.

“The team is formed by developers capable of pushing the boundaries in their fields, and we will leverage this to develop proprietary open-word technology. But we also don’t want to reinvent the wheel or stretch too far, so we work with external partners in areas where we don’t think we can add value. More information on this will be announced at GDC next week.”

We’ll have to wait and see what the company’s first title has in store for us. At Xbox Area we have all the news and updates for this title and many others, so be sure to visit our website.
