A set of free horror games is a way back in the PS1 demo era

Back in the old days, publishers were distributing the pages of the hottest new games with demo discs, which you can find later for magazine subscriptions, in some places. By 2020, they are both demons and The discs are an ever-expanding discovery, which makes this latest shocking demo mix interesting on many levels.

Available for download with itchio, Haunted Disc beats together 17 different demos, all inspired by the chunky graphics of the first PlayStation console. Contributions look out of place. Orange County, for example, is it scary for the first person … a skating game? Even more "normal" types of sounds sound refreshing – Strange Loss is an open world RPG that comes with statistics, selections, and quests, but also only for a few hours. My favorite game description belongs to him Neco Yume, “A cat-filled dream with a day / night cycle and many events.” The masterpiece also features a cat in the foreground. I hope it's not a scary cat!

The team's best trailer goes Long to the Moon, the first cosmic horror game where you have to find out what's going on in the city before it comes down to shame:

There is also a full "sauna simulator", but I think there is more to this game than an eye. And we will never forget Sweet Ramen, which seems to be about a flawless soup mascot.

Basically, if you're a fan of old-school franchises like Silent Hill and Resident Evil, you'll find something to like here – but it's a bundle and takes care of having fun with its ideas, rather than just reinventing the genre itself.
