Apple published a new article on its website for developers where it announced it was now can provide personalized applications to educational institutions through Apple School Manager.
According to the article, developers can target different organizations through App Store Connect and enable them to purchase customized versions of the app by volume from Apple School Manager. Apple also says this is a source that will allow educational institutions to distribute their own internal applications.
What is this new program?
Apple describes this new feature in the following terms.
You can now meet the unique needs of educational institutions by offering private programs. Organizations that identify on App Store Connect will see the app and will be able to purchase it by volume from Apple School Manager, a service that allows educational institutions to purchase content, configure automatic registrations on the device and create student and employee accounts. Educational institutions can use this function to disseminate programs for internal use.
A personalized app is understood to be a variant of the app where the developer can offer discounts to agencies that decide, and offer specific functions, special settings of technical departments, security data center operations, etc.
