What exactly is Minecraft Preview?
Minecraft Preview replaces the previous beta versions of Minecraft Bedrock. The latter should be switched off soon, at least on Xbox and Windows. Preview works as a separate game independent of the main game.
And why is this useful? Since Minecraft Preview is installed as a separate game, you can benefit from two advantages: on the one hand, your full version is not affected and existing worlds cannot be damaged by the beta version.
On the other hand, Minecraft Preview allows you to install and play the beta version and the regular game on one device at the same time. Previously you had to choose between the two as the beta overwrote the main game.
Beta versions often contain one or the other bug. This curious story shows that they can also be quite funny:

What features is Minecraft Preview missing? In the new beta program, you will not be able to access some features of the main game. This includes:
- Multiplayer with players on other platforms
- Marketplace (only not available on some platforms)
- Realms/Featured Servers
- Achievements cannot be unlocked
Also, worlds from the main game cannot be imported into the beta at this time. However, this function is still to be added.
What platforms is Minecraft Preview available on?
You can currently try out the new beta program on Windows. Minecraft Preview should also be usable on iOS and with your Xbox in the future. Other platforms are to follow, but details have not yet been announced.

On Windows
If you own the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft or a Game Pass subscription, you can easily this link to the official Xbox website, and on the landing page To install
click. The prerequisite is that you have logged in with your Microsoft account.
There is currently an occasional bug that prevents the installation button from appearing. In this case you can try to refresh the website or via this link go directly to the Microsoft Store.
On iOS
Access to Minecraft Preview is currently limited on iOS. If you want to try your luck, you can go to this site Sign in. New slots will be unlocked from time to time.
On Xbox
Minecraft Preview is also only available to a limited extent on the Xbox, namely for Xbox Insiders. Learn more about the Xbox Insider Program here. Later this year, Minecraft Preview will be available to all Game Pass subscribers on Xbox.
