Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League It has been postponed to next year.

That’s according to a tweet from Rocksteady’s creative director and co-founder Sefton Hill.

“We made the difficult decision to delay Suicide Squad: Killing the Justice League until spring 2023,” Hill writes“I know the delays are frustrating, but we’re working hard to make the best game possible. I look forward to bringing the chaos to Metropolis. Thank you for your patience.”

The new delay confirms a Bloomberg report in February that said the game had been delayed until 2023.

The game was released for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X at DC FanDome 2020, and was originally slated for release sometime this year.

The in-game story follows Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark, who must undertake an “impossible mission to save the planet” and kill the world’s DC superheroes. The squad was forced to take this action because they had deadly explosives implanted in their heads that would explode at any sign of resistance. The original story takes place in an open-world metropolis where four villains fight aliens with aliens, and their mission is to eliminate DC superheroes.

The action-adventure third-person shooter can be played solo or online co-op with up to four players. If playing single player, you can switch characters at will like in multiplayer. Each member of the squad will have unique mobility units that feature traversal abilities as well as a variety of customizable weapons and skills to master.
