we all love them the stories of characters who triumph in meteoric fashion and then hit the mother of all bumps, and we love them even more if these stories are true. It’s the curiosity we have as human beings, the desire we have to experience what it’s like to become a multi-millionaire in a few months by taking advantage of others and rejoicing in a well-deserved downfall.
That’s why there are seductive series such as the highly recommended ‘Halston’ which deals with the rise and fall of the famous creator, the documentary ‘Fyre’ about the disaster that set up this festival or ‘Narcos’ when it encompasses the accomplishments and fateful end of Pablo Escobar. From being the masters of the world to being the target of hatred and oblivion. This is the formula Apple TV uses on ‘WeCrashed’
A hateful but perfect Jared Leto who masterfully combines with Anne Hathaway
‘WeCrashed’ is about WeWork’s first win as a local business coworking worldwide and the fame it produced for Adam Neumann (played by Jared Leto), one of the founders. You only need one episode to experience Adam’s work style and learn to hate it, while understanding how he managed to lead WeWork to financial success only to pull it out of it sometime later. Jared Leto embodies this role to perfection, making you think there could only be him for the job.
Naturally, the series shines a light on Neumann’s eccentricities, which is what he’s been most featured in the media for, hiding the work of managers and all staff to make WeWork what it was. But the protagonist’s behavior and excessive lifestyle angered investors and led to his subsequent dismissal as CEO of the company. See this story live as a series (which both is the adaptation of a podcast of the same name
The role of Anne Hathaway As Adam Newmann’s partner, she’s also worth mentioning: the actress deploys her talent to play the role of a woman who goes astray as her husband leads her down a path of eccentricities and ‘excess. He is, along with Leto, one of the central pillars of the series.
You can currently watch the first four episodes of “WeCrashed” on Apple TV+, with four more scheduled to release every Friday through April 22. To explain a story that is already closed, I don’t think there will be a second season, but you know the saying: The good thing so brief twice good. Highly recommended, especially if you like the world of startups technological.
