We will not cut corners: the best-selling mobile of 2021 was, once again, the iPhone.
Or at least this conclusion was drawn by Counterpoint Research in its report Market impulse servicein which he analyzes the sales on the market of the smartphone high-end between January and December of last year.
The most curious, although not surprising, is that Apple managed to beat any other manufacturer in all regions: North America, Latin America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, China , India, Asia-Pacific (except China and India) and Middle East. East and Africa.
Apple’s formula, clearly a winner
It is important to remember again that the Counterpoint Research report focuses on the market premium. Thus, low-end or mid-range mobiles are discarded.
According to this report, 60% of high-end mobiles sold worldwide were iPhones. This allowed Apple to grow compared to 2020 and reach a market share of 60% premium which increased by 24%.
This means that those of Cupertino have once again overtaken Samsung, its most direct rival and it only manages to represent 17% of the market despite the fact that for years it has managed to dominate this price range.
