It was at the beginning of the year that Xiaomi presented its new family of Redmi Note 11 mobiles. However, the family was not complete since today Xiaomi presented us with two new models: the Pro+ and the 11S 5G.
These two new models join the Redmi Note 11, 11S, Pro and Pro 5G, offering more purchase options. However, it also caused confusion, especially since there is already a Pro model with 5G.
Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G
“With the launch of the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, Xiaomi takes the legacy of the Redmi Note series one step further by delivering performance that exceeds expectations,” Xiaomi said.
Most specs are the same as the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, including the cameras, which feature a 108MP main sensor and a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display. However, the main hallmark of the Pro+ is the blazing fast 120W “HyperCharge”. “loading.
Xiaomi claims the 4500mAh battery can go from 0% to 100% in just 15 minutes. In our full review, we found it takes over 20 minutes, which is still remarkably fast, even though Realme and Oppo have announced 150W and 240W charging speeds in their upcoming devices.
There’s also a move from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 to a MediaTek Dimensity 700, which in our landmarks turned out to be more impressive. You can also get the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G with up to 256GB of storage, which is double that of the Pro 5G.
It still comes with Android 11 instead of the latest Android 12, and oddly enough, it has MIUI 12.5 instead of 13. Xiaomi says the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G will go on sale worldwide on April 6 from $399.99 in the following configurations:
- 6GB + 128GB for $399.99
- 8 GB + 128 GB for $429.99
- 8 GB + 256 GB for $449.99
Redmi Note 11S 5G
The other new addition to the Redmi Note 11 range is the 11S 5G (above) but the MediaTek Dimensity 810 with built-in 5G isn’t the only change from its 4G counterpart.
It retains a big 5000mAh battery with 33W charging but the 90Hz display is bigger at 6.6in and it’s not AMOLED, the main camera is upped from 108MP to 50MP and the 2 MP depth sensor disappears entirely. It also has a maximum of 6 GB of RAM instead of 8 GB.
Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 11S 5G will be launched worldwide on April 6 of $299.99 (6GB + 128GB), although it is also available in three different specifications.
Redmi 10 5G
Not happy with these two new phones, Xiaomi has also unveiled the Redmi 10 5G (above) as an essentially 5G version of the standard Redmi 10, making it the first standard Redmi phone (i.e. not a note) to be equipped with 5G.
Although it has a different chip to make 5G connectivity possible – in the form of a MediaTek Dimensity 700 – that’s not the only change. The 8MP ultra-wide sensor and 2MP depth sensor have disappeared from the rear camera array.
The front camera also goes from 8MP to 5MP, but on the plus side, it comes with up to 6GB of RAM and the latest Software from Android 12 with MIUI 13.
The Redmi 10 5G will be available at the following prices:
- 4GB + 64GB for $229.99
- 4GB + 128GB for $249.99
