TheGrefg is one of our country’s most famous streamers and as such, his secondary player setup is coveted by many. But what not everyone knows is that the influencer does not have the latest hardware and bases its setup on components that are already more than profitable and which continue to provide good performance, and since he updated his main PC a few months ago, it will remain for other types of tasks. For this reason and out of curiosity, we are going to see what components TheGrefg’s secondary PC has to carry out its broadcasts and videos.
Its configuration consists of many components, as is logical, but there is one that is not specified and that we can apparently guess, since the available information is not updated and we do not know if he changed the model or not. We are talking about the motherboard, which we will leave for the end and we will fully enter the rest of the components.
Processor: Intel Core i9-9900X
We are talking about a CPU with Skylake architecture which is manufactured in 14 nm and which includes to its credit 10 cores and 20 threads at a base frequency of 3.5 GHz capable of going up to 4.5 GHz in its Boost Max 3.0 mode.
Its TDP is 165 watts and will support up to 128GB DDR4-2666MHz RAM. It has 44 PCIe 3.0 lanes that are handy for connecting capture cards and, if necessary, a sound card without losing any performance.
Graphics Card: NVIDIA RTX TITAN X
It was the best of NVIDIA’s Turing architecture and as such it’s still a valid GPU, but it’s a step away from the current generation and about on par with an RTX 3070 Ti. It has 4,608 shaders for 1770 MHz and Boostis PCIe 3.0 and integrates no less than 24 GB of VRAM for a TDP of 280 watts.
SSD: Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 2TB
Within this series it is the best, but since the X299 platform is limited to PCIe 3.0, it would not make sense to upgrade this component and go for the 980 PRO SSD. And we’re talking about a solid state drive 2TB able to reach a speed of 3,500 MB/s in reading and 3,300 MB/s of sequential write, more than enough for any task, no matter how arduous in the industry.
Hard Drive: Seagate IronWolft Pro 16TB
It is without doubt the storage option and the best one can buy in the professional sector for the features and the capacity of the brand. Logically, what TheGrefg is looking for here with this component for his PC is to have the maximum available storage space, because if the performances are good as such, they do not reach those of an SSD 5 times cheaper since it only gets 255 MB/s.
RAM memory: G.SKILL Trident Z RGB 4×8 GB DDR4 3.200 MHz
Knowing that the BMI of the processor arrives very precisely at this frequency, it is already considered an overclock as such. The kit is certainly a great choice for this rig, as it incorporates more than enough amount, speed, and tuned latencies that won’t trigger controller voltage, so it won’t add extra temperature.
What we have is a kit of four modules for Quad Channel at a frequency of 3200 MHz with latencies 16-18-18-36 with a voltage of 1.35V and of course with RGB.
Power supply: CORSAIR AX1600i
Possibly the best power supply you can buy today. TITANIUM certified, stable 12 volt rails, digital monitoring, multiple EPS12V and GPU connectors, absolute silence up to mid-range.
And of course, an efficiency that impresses, since although it declares a 94% in some scenarios it may be higher.
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv m-ATX
There is controversy here because as the second PC having an m-ATX case in the X299 platform, it can only mean as a motherboard it had a EVGA X299 Microphone. In any case, we are talking about a medium-sized case with tempered glass and a double chamber system to isolate the upper part from the lower part.
Its design is quite sober, but it uses premium materials such as aluminum, steel and named tempered glass.
And so far TheGrefg’s secondary PC components, a very interesting setup that can be used for anything from gaming to video editing.
