The new PlayStation Studios Firesprite is busy developing a grand narrative horror game. To bring it to life, the studio turned to Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5.
Firesprite was acquired by PlayStation last September and is still little known despite its vast experience. The studio was in fact founded by the former Psygnosis, famous for supplying cult games to the PS1. The WipEout or Destruction Derby franchises, that’s them. The teams have no shortage of ideas and are currently developing one AAA narrative horror adventure gamewhich seems to fit the previously mentioned Dark Narrative Adventure title.
Whoa!
According to a job posting unearthed by a member of reset era, Firesprite wants to make us cringe again after The Persistence. A PSVR exclusive that has since been released on PS4 that challenged us to survive in a ship full of creatures. In addition to the classic strings, the freak came from the roguelike side of the software with a random rearrangement of the ship.
As a result, Firesprite will use its abilities in a narrative horror adventure game. He is also looking for a director for the narration.
We are Looking for a Narrative Director to join our team for a AAA narrative horror adventure game powered by Unreal Engine 5. The Narrative Director is responsible for the project’s narrative, contributing to the construction of the universe and the game’s lore, and ensuring that quality narrative content is provided at all key stages of development through to release.
There’s no mention of PlayStation VR 2 compatibility, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed (strong).
Firesprite: Two more PS5 projects in development
Small but strong? Firesprite doesn’t only have this horror game in its cards. The company is also developing the PS VR2 title Horizon Call of the Mountain. And if nothing is confirmed, our colleagues at VGC believe that the new twisted metal would have returned to the studio. The English are therefore very busy.
