Epic Games Store Exclusive disappeared and no one said why

disappeared, Epic, exclusive, Games, store

Paranoia: Happiness is an essential game. You may not have heard of it, but it is a bit unusual.

Paranoia: happiness is a must It is a science fiction CRPG jointly developed by Black Shamrock and Cyanide Studio based on the Paranoia desktop RPG. As far as I know, this is a good RPG, and the interesting thing is AI.

The game was originally scheduled to be released on November 14 last year, but it was eventually postponed to December 5. This is an exclusive product from the Epic Games Store, which makes the whole situation even more unusual.

Sometime after launch (probably late January or early this month), the game disappeared. Its Epic Store page no longer exists and returns a 404 error. Despite its Steam page, its launch target is ambiguous 2020.

This is common for games with exclusive rights to the Epic Store, and usually keeps their Steam page until the end of the exclusive period, at which point the date becomes more certain and the game can be purchased. However, there is still no way to buy or pre-order delusional fanatics on Steam.

Currently the only way to play games is to buy a key from Humble or another online store and then redeem the key on the Epic launcher. Game Official Twitter No mention of this and no official channels for co-developers CyanideOr publisher Bigben Interactive.

So far, the official accounts of Twitter and Facebook are quite active, answering questions from followers and sharing content. If you're not looking specifically for a game, you won't even notice that the game has been deleted.

Someone on the official Facebook page did it and was curious why they couldn't buy it anymore, but their question was still unanswered.

It is difficult to speculate what caused it. According to Way Back Machine, the game's Epic Store page has been around until mid-January. Paracritic Metacritic score is not high, but this is hardly a disaster.

It's not unusual for the name publisher's game of this figure to disappear from the shelves of a digital store in this way. For the Epic Store exclusive store, this is undoubtedly the case. Epic's hands-on curatorial approach means careful selection of every game, especially the exclusive games launched on the platform.

What's even weirder is that we can't get an official answer, or even a standard PR hotline. Publisher Bigben Interactive did not return a duplicate request for comment. Neither Shamrock nor Cyanide provided any official statement, and Epic Games brought us back to Bigben.

Thanks for the tip, Steve Peacock.
