This is clearly a brand new installment from Square Enix at the time, which could have been released after the PS1 trilogy. A precursor? A sequel to a potential gecko son?
Gex: Returning to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC?
A parody of American society and television, Gex Jr. apparently wouldn’t have looked much different from its predecessors with references to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? as well as Star Wars Episode 5: The Empire vs. attack. So a return soon? Never say never… especially since Square Enix was busy behind the scenes in February and last year.
In fact, the Japanese publisher has secured the exploitation rights in Japan and Europe. We’ll tone down this action, however, as it doesn’t necessarily equate to a project in development. But if so, will Crystal Dynamics (Tomb Raider, Marvel’s Avengers), creators of the series, be back? Who knows, but the studio is already trying to save the new Perfect Dark.
