A new Tomb Raider title was announced during the Unreal Engine 5 conference. Crystal Dynamics (Marvel’s Avengers) will retain control and will run the engine from Epic Games.
Epic Games organized a small conference around the new version of its in-house graphics engine, the Unreal Engine 5. La Saga Tomb Raider continues
Ultimately, while the franchise’s 25th anniversary could have been celebrated, there was nothing significant, enough to make us question the future of the license. But the developers will not turn away from Lara and formalize one new Tomb Raider game on Unreal Engine 5.
Crystal Dynamics is proud to be part of the launch of Unreal Engine 5. This new engine offers next-level gaming experiences in terms of storytelling. And therefore Today we are happy to announce that we have just started development of our next Tomb Raider game using Unreal Engine 5
. Our goal is to push the boundaries of graphics and deliver the high-quality, cinematic action-adventure experience that fans of Crystal Dynamics and the franchise deserve. We look forward to this journey together.
Patience…
As General Manager Dallas Dickinson says, development of this new generation of Tomb Raider has only just begun. Inevitably, there was no image, title (not even provisionally) or platforms. However, it’s not hard to guess that the game will be available on both PS5, Xbox Series and PC… and on a possible Nintendo Switch 2.
Do you think Crystal Dynamics is going in the right direction with the reboot? Happy to know a new component is in the works? Which areas would you like to visit? Tell us everything in the comments.
