Valve wants to increase Steam Deck shipments in Q2.
Valve’s Steam Deck has been struggling with delivery bottlenecks since release. Some pre-orderers will have to wait until the third quarter of 2022 before they are likely to receive their handheld console. In order to shorten the waiting time, Valve is gradually increasing production, which is already having an impact.
On Twitter, the Steam Deck’s official account announced that the first emails have gone out to pre-orderers who should receive their console in the second quarter. Valve processes the orders in the order in which they were received. If pre-orderers receive such an email, they have 72 hours to purchase the Steam Deck, otherwise the order will expire and they will have to requeue.

In addition, Valve wants to speed up the delivery process. In the tweet, the company announces that there will be more deliveries in the second quarter. Sometimes there will even be two batches of pre-order emails per week instead of just one as is currently the case. You can see the whole tweet here:

Also, Valve has the information on the official Steam Deck website updated. Pre-orderers can now see which months include quarters two and three to give a better idea of when the Steam Deck will arrive.

The production of the Steam Deck is supposed to get faster and faster
In an interview, Lawrence told Yang, UX designer at Valve IGN (via The Verge) in February that the production of the Steam decks is progressing faster and faster. According to this, Valve produced tens of thousands of Steam Decks in the first month, hundreds of thousands in the second month and the production should continue to increase.
