When Apple opened Pandora’s box by removing the charger from its cell phones, Android smartphone makers began to analyze the repercussions of this strategy. It seems that the company led by Tim Cook did not do badly as Google and Samsung emulated this strategy and Xiaomi tried it, although it ended up backing down.
Now it’s realme that has started removing the charger from specific models, like the realme Narzo 50A Prime that it showcased in India.
The first realme without charger in the box
In a post on the company’s official forums, the company confirmed that the Narzo 50A Prime will come without a charger in the boxbeing a device with 10W charging and assuming that its potential buyers already have a compatible charger at home.
It should also be clarified that the company itself indicates that other models of the company, even others of the same family, will come with chargers, and we were able to verify it in the realme store in Europe, in models such as the realme Narzo 50 which comes with a 33W charger and the realme Narzo 30 5G which has an 18W charger.
Remove some chargers, but not all
The company explains that the elimination of this accessory allows more money to be used to improve the specifications of devices that lack it, in addition to relevant environmental considerations.
We spoke with realme Europe and they told us that they had no news at the moment that this policy would apply in our country.
We will have to see how this issue develops, especially since the European Union also has a say.
