Death in Minecraft is one of the great motivators of the block game, because to prevent it, we gradually equip ourselves better and build impregnable fortresses. After all, when you die, you not only lose a large part of the accumulated experience points, but also drop all the items you carried with you on the spot.
If you explore new territory thoughtlessly and don’t lay out breadcrumbs or nearby respawn points, you may never find your hard-earned Netherit armor or trusty steed again. In the just released Snapshot 22w14a, a lifeline for careless adventurers has been added, which defuses this nightmare for many players.
By the way, Enrico Marx tells you in his detailed field report why the numerous updates will make Minecraft in 2022 more playable than ever:
Minecraft:
I’ve played it for over 1,000 hours and it just keeps getting better
This is in snapshot 22w14a
In your latest blog entry the developers talk about new features and changes that will see the light of day with the snapshot. These are the highlights:
The Recovery Compass: You build this useful device from the also new Echo Shards (Echo Shards), which you can loot in chests in the Sunken Cities (Ancient Cities). The compass will reliably point to the location where you last had your lights blown out. Accordingly, you should bunker him somewhere at home, because him in front carrying it with you when you die would be of little help.
The Mangrove Biome: The new wood species is finally getting its own biome, which is extremely hot and swampy and covered in a thick layer of mud (you’ll find out why this is interesting in a moment). Here you will find not only the eponymous trees, which for the first time also sprout large roots, but also a fauna of bees and warm frogs.
Renewable Clay: If you like burning clay bricks, you can be happy, because the material, which previously only appeared randomly in water, can now be produced artificially by placing mud on a block under which there is a pointed stalactite. Over time it will become brand new clay!
