Supply Sacred Tears in Elden Ring will boost the recovery of any vial you use.

There are two types of flasks you can use, Flask of Crimson Tears (red) to recover HP, and Flask of Cerulean Tears (blue) to recover FP which is used for abilities such as weapon skills and summoning of ash spirits.

There are two types of upgrades to get the most out of these flasks – Golden Seeds to increase flask usage and Sacred Tears to increase flask power. It is on the latter that we will focus with this page, looking at Sacred Tear Locations – enough to completely upgrade them.

It’s also worth knowing that there is a third type of flask, the Wondrous Physick flask, which requires Crystal Tears customization.

Elden Ring Side Quests For Dummies: Side Quests You Need To Do

How to Strengthen Flasks with Holy Tears

As you increase your HP by increasing your Vigor stat or your FP by increasing your Mind stat, you’ll want to make sure your uses of Flask are more effective – ideally you want a single use to fully fill your gauges. You can do this by boosting the flask charges by finding Holy Tears.

Sacred Tears are thankfully simple to locate as they are always found in a church at the foot of a statue in front. Some of them even have a handy thanks site, but be aware that some may also be at risk.

Once you have one, rest at a Grace site, select Flasks from the menu, and you’ll have the option to permanently increase the amount replenished by Flasks.

Being a huge open world, you can reach a Sacred Tear in a different order, so we’ve split their locations in each part of the lands between…

Sacred Tear of Limgrave Locations

Marika Third Church

This is probably the first one you’ll come across although, rather than taking the main path west from Stormveil Castle, you’ll need to head east from Limgrave and cross a bridge. Continue on the main path and you will reach the church and also a site of grace.

Callu Baptismal Church

South of Limgrave is the Weeping Peninsula, head to higher ground and you’ll reach Ailing Village. To the south of the village you will find the Baptismal Church of Callu, although it is also crawling with rats, so you will have to eliminate them first.

pilgrimage church

On lower ground north of Ailing Village (south of the watchtower, Grace’s site is a good place to start), head west and you’ll cross a bridge. On the other side, you’ll see the church to the north, so climb up there to get your next Holy Tear and also activate another Grace Site.

Fourth Church of Marika

This church is to the west of the Weeping Peninsula. You can actually see its spire in the distance when you exit the Pilgrimage Church and look southwest. Drive straight past an evergaol and the ruins of Witchbane to reach it. Just be sure to take care of the two headless soldier spirits guarding the entrance. A sacred tear and a site of grace await you further.

Sacred Tear of Liurnia Locations

Church of Irith

Just as you exit Stormveil Castle and head towards Liurnia, there is a grace site called Lake-Facing Cliffs. The Church of Irith is directly opposite in the basement, where you will find your next Holy Tear.

war church

You’ll find this church northwest of the woods on the main path to the Great Dectus Lift.

Altus Plateau Sacred Tears Locations

Second Church of Marika

From the Altus de Grace Highway junction site, head north (straight north rather than following the path). You will soon reach the church on the lower level, although it is possible to descend safely. Be warned though that as you approach you will be invaded by a bloody finger.

Stormcaller Church

From the Rampartside Path Grace Site, which you’ll find northwest of the Outer Wall, head southwest and you’ll come across a site with stone sword tombs and lightning storms. At the bottom you will see the church. It’s guarded by a few grunt soldiers, but they’re not much of a problem.

Once you’ve chosen a starting class (like samurai) and a starting souvenir item, you first need to figure out how to level up, how to respec, and how to use Ashes of War and Attribute Scaling. Need direction from there? Try to find Golden Seeds, Holy Tears, Crystal Tears, Talismans, and some of our top weapon and armor picks. If you want to improve your prowess, we recommend farming runes – especially before facing Magrit, Godrick the grafted, Crystalian, Leonine Misbegotten, Starscourge Radahn (required as part of the Ranni quest), Red Wolf of Radagon and Renalla Queen of the Full Moon after finding the location of the Glittering Stone Key.

Summits of Sacred Tears of the Giants Locations

Marika’s First Church

This church is south of the large frozen lake that is home to spirit jellyfish and a huge boss dragon that will obscure the area with mist. But, unless you want to fight it as you are, you can just keep heading south from Freezing Lake’s Grace site to reach the church.

Church of Rest

From the base of the Grace Site Forge, instead of heading towards the boss in front of you, head west where you’ll see the church, although you’ll also have to fight a fairly tricky red okina. Better though, and you’ll find the Last Sacred Tear at the Church as well as a Grace Site.

Good luck upgrading your flasks in Elden Ring!
