As you may already know, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the biggest bestsellers for Nintendo Switch from our beloved Nintendo company, but unlike its mobile counterpart, it doesn’t get the same love in the form of regular updates and new content. In fact, the last content update that New Horizons has received was its Happy Home Paradise DLC, which was released in November 2021. On the other hand, Pocket Camp continues to be updated, bringing new events, furniture, and villagers on a regular basis.
As they share from ScreenRant, the main reason why Pocket Camp is not abandoned is because of its microtransactions, which act as a stable source of income to keep the title alive. After all, mobile games with micropayments are much more monetizable, apart from being cheaper to develop and maintain. In addition, Pocket Camp is a much smaller scale game than New Horizons
More than two years have passed since the impressive launch of New Horizons in the midst of a pandemic, and understandably, its players are already beginning to hate the same old routine. Undoubtedly, it is a great shame to see the great N leave aside one of its biggest hits in the hybrid console catalogeven more so with all the potential that the title has in the form of new paid downloadable content.
And you, are you still playing Pocket Camp? Would you like to see new updates for New Horizons? We read you in the comments!
