Kingdom Hearts 4 announced with a realistic Sora and a new story

As part of the series’ 20th anniversary celebrations, Square Enix just took advantage of a Sunday night presentation in Japan to unveil two new ones Kingdom Hearts games, one of which is Kingdom Hearts IV.

The show, held in Tokyo, had live music, artwork presentations and “stage performances by series director Tetsuya Nomura, series composer Yoko Shimomura and other development members.” The big news, however, was this Kingdom Hearts IV Announcement, alongside revealing another new one Kingdom Hearts Game, this for mobile.

Both trailers are included in the video below, which can be viewed after a short sequence Kingdom Hearts Dark Roads Last story update. Why three videos in one clip?

The first new game is called Kingdom Hearts Missing Link, and its trailer runs from 1:53 to 4:05. A closed beta for this will be released later this year for iOS and Android, but only in “certain regions”.

That Kingdom Hearts IV The trailer begins right after, showing the expected mix of Square Enix and Disney characters, only this time “in a beautiful, realistic world never seen before in the KINGDOM HEARTS series.” It has Japanese audio but there are English subtitles baked into this version:

There is no word on platforms or release date for Kingdom Hearts IV.

In the announcement trailer, Sora makes a triumphant return with an updated look at the start of an epic new storyline entitled The Lost Master Arc. Beginning with Sora taking on a massive enemy in a boss fight, players are introduced to the Quadratum, a large, sprawling city set in a beautiful, realistic world unlike anything seen before in the KINGDOM HEARTS franchise. Fans will be excited to see the return of Sora’s familiar companions Donald and Goofy, in addition to the debut appearance of Strelitzia, a mysterious new character who appears before Sora in this strange new setting.

Fans can also look forward to KINGDOM HEARTS Missing-Link, a brand new game for iOS and Android devices that allows players to embark on adventures from the realm of Scala ad Caelum to the real world. Players can engage in exciting battles against the Heartless and discover a new, original story. A closed beta test is planned for 2022*.
