With Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, The Bearded Ladies has delivered a successful tactical title. The Swedish developers have by no means rested on their laurels because Corruption 2029 has now announced the next title within the genre.
It is astonishing how soon the new squad tactics game will be released: From February 17, 2020 – and thus in just a few days – the good piece should be available for the PC at the Epic Games Store for 19.99 euros. Pre-orders are now possible.
The Bearded Ladies' all-new IP takes place in a dystopian America in the near future. You take command of a team of heavily augmented soldiers and must infiltrate an inhumane regime on your deadly mission to uncover the cause of the obscure corruption. The eponymous corruption turned the country into a war-torn wasteland and helped the unnatural regime take power.
The core mechanics of the new title revolve around the tactical cover-based battle with a number of stealth elements. Different weapons and skills should give you a variety of playful options. You always have to decide whether a violent conflict is necessary and useful, or whether researching and exploiting the environment offers more advantageous positions.
