Hello Yaddle, goodbye weekends

My last weekend blog just had to feature this wonderful character.

The recently released Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is great. One of my favorite games of 2022 and the best Star Wars game ever. Even if Yaddle wasn’t included I would still love this game. But it includes Yaddle. It only took 20 years three blogsand my entire run as weekend editor, but it finally happened: those cowards finally got Yaddle into a game.

And now I spend the weekends joining the other great writers (and Ari). igamesnews in the regular week!

early 2019a year that feels both very old and not so long ago that I started reporting on weekends igamesnews as your weekend editor. Eventually I was hired full time and have continued to be your weekend editor while now also writing a few days a week. And over the years I’ve used weekends as a place to let off steam Create stupid blogs, tell stupid storiesand Review energy drinks and other weird shit. It was have fun and much work.

And at the beginning of my career as an editor on weekends I wrote a blog about Yaddle and the total absence of character from anything war of stars games. At the time, I had no idea that TT Games would add the character Skywalker saga. It took a few years and a few delays, but finally, three years after that stupid blog, I got Yaddle in a video game.

Now in 2022, after being your weekend editor for three years, I’m giving up the title. I understand the timing makes you think, ‘Wait, did he just take on this role to push Yaddle into the mainstream and put them in a game? And now he’s leaving after completing his mission?” The answer to that is…no comment.

But yes, this is my final weekend blog as your intrepid editor for every day that isn’t a weekday. Bad news for those who hate me: As I said before, I won’t be going igamesnews. I’m sticking with it. But things are changing and the site will no longer have a dedicated weekend editor to lead the ship on Saturdays and Sundays. Instead, my blogs and ideas will spread throughout the work week.

A stack of Bang Energy soda cans.

I have very mixed feelings at the moment.

I’m glad to finally have my weekends back after years of combining them with work. I’m sad that I won’t be there to continue this old one igamesnews Tradition of blogging on Saturday and Sunday. However, now more than ever I’m collaborating with my fellow writers and editors. which is nice. After the strike, we all hung out more and tried to be more connected. It’s great stuff. And I get to play as Yaddle in a big open world war of stars Game.

You know, my life isn’t that bad.

To everyone who read and enjoyed my weekend blogs, thank you! If you are at a ‘Store competition or laughed at Sunday Comics, I’m grateful you stuck around and had a good time. Weekends here have changed over the years, losing content and gaining content. But I’ve always had fun with… most of you.

Oh I gotta make sure this blog is still about Yaddle so two things: you unlock her by talking to her in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and it’s wild to hear Yaddle talk. Finally my dreams have come true.

With that, I shut down the weekend blog machine and head outside. Funny, one of the very first things I ever wrote for the weekend was a blog about Yaddle. And I’ll end it with a blog about Yaddle too. It’s like poetry. It rhymes.

We see each other from Monday to Friday.

(And feel free to share any of your favorite weekend blogs below if you have any!)
