The development of The Witcher 3 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S is not being hell

Taking into account CD Projekt Red’s extensive history regarding the crunch among its staff, the truth is that it could rise certain doubts about the development of the new version of The Witcher 3. And it is that the Polish company has decided to delay its arrival for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Now, during a financial call about the latest balance sheet, Michał Nowakowski, Senior Vice President of Business Development, wanted to set the record straight. As pointed out PC Gamer, the person in charge indicated that the development is not being “hell”. In fact, he has been surprised by the information published in recent hours.

The most disastrous video game launches in history: from the ET crash to the drama of Cyberpunk 2077

“I was looking at headlines on the internet and one headline caught my eye: ‘Witcher 3 next-gen version delayed indefinitely’. [Esto] It sounds like the development of the game is in some kind of hell. I mean it’s not a fact. There have been many hints that we are going to release it in June of next year. That’s not the case at all.”

What we do know is that Geralt of Rivia’s facelift will be handled by an internal studio team. All in all, we don’t even know a release window for The Witcher 3but from CD Projekt Red it has been stated that “nobody says the game is delayed by a monumental time gap“.

On the other hand, Nowakowski revealed that there is not much work ahead to be carried out and that only about 15 people, along with external personnel, will be in charge of putting the finishing touches. Of course, none of this will affect the creation of the next work.

While we wait, the truth is that the developer wastes no time. It has grown muscle with the sales of Cyberpunk 2077 and they are already looking to the future with The Witcher 4.
