When will Cyberpunk 2077 get its first story DLC? There is finally an answer to this question: First 2023 CD Projekt Red gives the role-playing game its big addon. So fans will have to wait a while longer to return to Night City for new stories.
But there is also more good news: The developers behind Cyberpunk 2077 officially promise ongoing support for the role-playing game and that more DLCs will come. However, the question arises as to how extensive they are.
This is how it goes with DLCs for Cyberpunk 2077
Story-Addon erst 2023: CD Projekt Red revealed at its most recent investor conference that we will have to wait a while for the major expansion. The story DLC, which is similar in scope and structure to Hearts of Stone or Blood and Wine
Many open questions: What exactly the story addon for Cyberpunk 2077 brings is currently just as little known. At the moment we can only speculate about the plot and the current content of the planned expansion. There was in the past though alleged leaks to possible extensions, but CD Projekt Red has denied it. There were also rumors about Busan as a potential DLC location, which we consider implausible. Busan DLC coming? That’s behind the speculation
Story addon (probably) not free: Cyberpunk 2077 fans should be prepared to be asked to pay again for the big Cyberpunk 2077 expansion. After all, a paid season pass was even planned for the role-playing game. It remains questionable whether it will still come.
Nevertheless, it would be anything but surprising if the story addon was similar in scope to Hearts of Stone or Blood and Wine and cost something. After all, the Witcher DLCs were almost seen as full-fledged successors due to their scope.
How many story addons are planned? CD Projekt Red is currently only talking about a single major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. It is currently not known whether there will be another story DLC after that. In this regard, CDPR was not consistent in its communication – sometimes there was talk of one addon, sometimes of several. So fans have to be patient a little longer until the developer studio provides a clear answer to this question.
More DLCs to come: CD Projekt Red promises that Cyberpunk 2077 will not only be improved, but will also receive additional DLCs. But they should be the previous ones Mini-Addons
correspond and are conceptually similar to those for The Witcher 3: Small, free DLCs that provide new weapons, vehicles or clothes.
For example, with patch 1.5, Cyberpunk 2077 only received a handful of new content. So, for example, four apartments for V, one Iguana as a pet or new weapons and cars as a reward for completing certain fixer quests.
