Halo Infinite is now available, but as is well known, the end of the road has not yet been reached. In addition to upcoming content that has already been confirmed, such as the co-op campaign, further content such as a comprehensive Battle Royale mode could be in the works.
The Battle Royale rumor surrounding Halo Infinite is certainly not entirely new, but it is now receiving new nourishment. If you believe new speculation, then the Battle Royale part of the action epic on PC and Xbox will be very comprehensive – comparable to Call of Duty: Warzone.
Source of the new rumors is Jez Corden from Windows Central, so once again a usually well-informed insider and journalist who has often been right with his information and therefore seems to have good sources. Now he commented on the Halo Infinite Battle Royale rumor on the The Xbox Two Podcast.
According to Corden, such a mode has been in the works for more than two years at the development studio Certain Affinity. This has previously helped with the Halo franchise and published, among other things, the multiplayer DLC for Halo 2 in 2007.
Corden is still undecided on exactly how the Battle Royale mode for Halo Infinite will work. However, this will actually be big: “This is a big undertaking on the scale of Call of Duty: Warzone,” says the insider. He also adds to the Battle Royale mode: “It’s basically like a standalone game.”
And by when should this mode be delivered? Corden assumes that it could possibly be ready as part of Season 3 of Halo Infinite – and that wouldn’t be that far away. After all, the new Season 2 is known to start on May 3rd.
Of course we will keep you informed about the further development of this rumor.
