Cyberpunk 2077

If the game developed by CD PROJEKT had a slow start and caused a lot of bugs, its updated version restored the image of a little Cyberpunk 2077. In the heart of Night City’s megalopolis, you play as a cyber mercenary engaged in a constant struggle for survival. The game gives you a choice of multiple origins… a street kid, a nomad, and a corporatist. While these aren’t choices, they all make for a well-written and compelling story. The side quests have also been worked on. If Cyberpunk 2077 is an FPS, it is its PRG dimension that makes it a special title with its open world conducive to exploration. The streets are very detailed and each area has its own atmosphere.

Demon’s Souls Remake

Demon’s Souls Remake is the PS5 remake of the role-playing game of the same name that was released for PS3 in 2009. In this version developed by Bluepoint Games, the player still controls a hero sent to the fictional kingdom of Boletaria to slay the demon. Considered at the time to be a difficult and demanding game, this remake wanted to keep that bias and put difficulty at the heart of the experience. The timing against enemies is the same, making the gameplay very addictive, even if the combos remain limited. The inventory has benefited from several improvements. Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition

Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition is the “ultimate” version of the fifth installment of the saga. Developed and published by Capcom, Beat’em All offers very different gameplay depending on the incarnation of the hero. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut takes place in Japan in the mid-13th century, where Jin Sakai, samurai from the island of Tsushima, works to repel the Mongol invasion. Exploration is a very important point for the developers, which is reflected in the level design with a detailed map. In combat, Jin Sakai can use many weapons (bows, explosives, smoke bombs, kunaïs), although sword handling is the core of the gameplay experience. It is also possible to level up Jin Sakai through a skill tree. However, side quests can be repetitive. The Director’s Cut version fixes some bugs of the original title released on PS4 and adds a new area: Iki Island. This has its own narrative arc and raises, among other things, the level of side missions.

God of War (2018)

God of War, developed by Santa Monica Studio, is the new installment in the eponymous saga. The player embodies Kratos, a war god who has lost his wife and heads to the mountains with his son Atreus to dump those ashes, but what was originally a burial rite will take an unexpected turn. Unlike previous games based on Greek mythology, this one draws openly from Norse (or Scandinavian) mythology and focuses its story on the father-son relationship between Kratos and Atreus. The game belongs to the beat ’em all genre which includes its share of epic battles. God of War also stands out for its cinematographic impulses, punctuated by the different kingdoms (Midgard, Alflheim, etc.) in this mythical epic.

Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V, developed by Rockstar Games, is the fifth standalone part of the license of the same name. The player takes turns controlling three characters…Michael, Trevor and Franklin in the city of Los Santos in the San Andreas region. Everyone here has their own story and characteristics that need to be used to the best of their ability. Heists, car chases and other confrontations punctuate the gaming experience. You will be assigned several missions with the main objective of making your way in the local underworld, missions that must be carried out without getting caught by the police. In addition to the main scenario, the open world of GTA V is overflowing with side quests and activities of all kinds without even mentioning the multiplayer component… GTA Online and its hundreds of hours of play in perspective.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Prequel to the quintessential video game western, Red Dead Redemption 2 tells the adventures of Arthur Morgan who, after missing a robbery, is forced to flee with his gang to the heart of the great American West. While playing Red Dead Redemption sheds new light on this new iteration, it’s in no way essential to enjoying the game. The narrative and open world are particularly rich. Indeed, the only main campaign and the many side quests offer a phenomenal gameplay, not to mention the online mode to (re)discover the lands of this open world between friends and/or foes. It is also possible to try out the joys of hunting or just play poker. Despite some bugs, Red Dead Redemption II in 2022 was and still is a technical, playful and artistic demonstration.

The Last of Us Remastered & The Last of Us Part II

It was hard to overlook these two big hits from the PlayStation brand. In
The last of usthe player follows the adventures of Joel and Ellie as they try to survive a mysterious disease responsible for the end of mankind. This epidemic affects humans and makes them particularly aggressive. But no mass killings here, it’s mostly a survival game with limited resources and weapons to manage. Crafting and exploration are key here, hopefully seeing the ending of a highly cinematic storyline that will captivate you from start to finish. The license interferes with the horror genre and puts us in constant danger. The Last of Us Part II follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, refining the gameplay and narrative, and taking care of the graphics to make the formula even more immersive.
