Samsung updated a tablet to One UI 4.1 this week, Xiaomi and Motorola continue to distribute Android 12. An overview of the most important Android updates of the week.
- Samsung is currently distributing Android 12 and One UI 4.1 to selected devices.
- The rollout of Android 12 will also continue at OnePlus, Motorola and Xiaomi.
- New hints about upcoming functions have also appeared for Android 13.
Manufacturers such as Samsung, Xiaomi and Motorola distribute updates for Android-based cell phones and tablets on a quasi-weekly basis. Below is an overview of the most important Android updates of the week:
OnePlus
OnePlus releases the first Android 12 beta for the OnePlus Nord. However, this is currently only available for power users in India. It is still unclear when a test version will appear in Germany.
Xiaomi
Xiaomi continues to distribute Android 12. Now the global variant of the Poco F2 Pro is being considered for the update. You can look forward to improvements and new functions.
Motorola
Motorola is also continuing the rollout of the current Android 12 operating system. In Brazil, the Motorola Edge 20 is currently receiving the update. The new firmware includes all the features of Android 12 as well as new My UX interface gestures.
Samsung
Samsung is now also distributing Android 12 for entry-level phones. The Galaxy M31 will also receive the new update in India. You still have to wait until the update appears in this country.
The Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7+ tablets will be equipped with the new One UI 4.1 user interface. Included are innovations such as improved image editing tools, new actions for Bixby routines and RAM Plus.
Android 13
Android 12L seems to have a feature from Android 13. The “System Photo Picker” was discovered in the code.
It should also be possible with Android 13 to make calls from your Chromebook. This feature was discovered in a new commit by Chromium Gerrit. It is still unclear whether the feature will actually be included in the new operating system.
