The launch of watchOS 9 is scheduled for June 6 during WWDC 22!
Waiting for the release of watchOS 9 in the coming monthsApple’s most trusted analysts have started sharing their predictions regarding the timeliness of this upcoming OS update for the world’s most famous smartwatch.
According to the latest report shared by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, adding more features dedicated to health care and greater autonomy in the performance of the Apple Watch compete as the main novelties, the official announcement of which is expected during the WWDC 2022as well as iOS 16, macOS 13 and tvOS 16.
More health performance and features
The conference starts June 6. Sessions and labs will be streamed online, but Apple is inviting a small delegation of developers and press to Apple Park, in a first step out of the era of virtual pandemic events.
The quoted report suggests that Low Power Mode would allow customers run a bunch of apps and features without using as much battery. This could help make the Apple Watch more useful for customers who take long commutes or want to use sleep tracking, without using their data.
It also indicates that you will get new types of trainingwill track additional metrics during a workout and expand the system’s sleep tracking functionality with watchOS 9.
In addition to the well-known health features aimed at all users, watchOS 9 could launch features focused on women and atrial fibrillation in particular. So, like the long-awaited launch of the Medication Reminder app, a feature Bloomberg has been reporting on in development since 2019.
As expected for several editions, this year watchOS 9 will also get a makeover with updates to its watch facesadding modern complication styles and taking full advantage of the larger screen found on the new Watch hardware.
The most anticipated features of watchOS 9
To date, multiple reports shared by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, The Wall Street Journal, and Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo agree that watchOS 9 will be updated with the following features:
- Update to existing watch faces.
- low power mode for run some apps and features with less battery life.
- Function of shock detectionsimilar to fall detection, able to recognize a car crash by measuring a sudden change in g-force, contacting emergency services.
- Improved health tracking
- Detection of improved atrial fibrillation by calculating ‘burden’, a measure of how long a person has atrial fibrillation in a given time period.
- Improvements in the application of activity and training.
According to the technical characteristics of watchOS 9, It will only be available from the Apple Watch Series 4 from 2018 or later.
