In less than two weeks the time has come and Season 2 in Halo Infinite will take off. Before that happens, 343 Industries has now presented the first content of “Lone Wolves” in more detail via video.
The action hit Halo Infinite is about to start its second multiplayer season – and for this the developers of 343 Industries have planned all kinds of fresh content. In a second preview video, some of them are now discussed again, namely three fresh game modes for the title.
The new modes are the classic King of the Hill as well as Land Grab and Last Spartan Standing. Other variants are also planned when Season 2 officially starts on May 3, 2022.
With King of the Hill, a game mode from the Halo multiplayer that is particularly popular among fans returns to the current part. However, this one is given a smaller, newer variation. A neutral hill spawns on the map and two teams compete for control of that hill and for points. If you climb the hill without combat, you capture it and earn one point per second for your team from then on. If a corresponding bar is filled up with these points, you score one point in the overall ranking for your team and a new hill spawns at a different point on the map.
In Land Grab, there are three neutral zones on the map at the start of a game. If you capture a zone, you can earn a point for your team. If all zones are occupied, there is a transfer before there are three new neutral zones. The first team to score 11 points by occupying the zones wins the match.
Last Spartan Standing is an all new mode in Lone Wolves and Halo Infinite’s answer to battle royale for now. In the FFA gameplay, there are 12 players on the Big Team Battle maps that have five respawns. Anyone who has exhausted all respawns after their deaths is eliminated from the game until finally only one player remains. You can also upgrade weapons through kills.
King of the Hill and Last Spartan Standing will be available from day one of Season 2, while Land Grab will be available a month after launch as part of the Fracture: Entrenched event.
