Techland announces a sales milestone Dying Light 2.
According to the developers, the game sold 5 million copies in its first month on all platforms. The game was released on February 4th, so total sales will be higher.
The studio also announced the first game in the series, dying lighthas now exceeded 20 million sales.
The action-RPG survival horror game from Techland is set 20 years after the first game and stars a new protagonist named Aiden. The city where it all takes place, set in Europe, is free to explore on a map four times larger than the original game. There are different factions in the game that you will interact with and your decisions will affect the world and how NPCs perceive you. Some decisions can also open or close certain areas of the city to you.
New zombies have been added to the sequel. Like the previous one, they are slow during the day and more aggressive at night. During the night, zombies will come out of hiding, giving you a chance to explore their lair.
Techland plans to support the game by expanding the world with new stories, locations, in-game events and more for at least five years after launch. The first DLC includes DLC inspired by free factions, followed by the first set of challenges in March. There will be a series of events around the mutant infected next week, with New Game+ expected later this month, a second set of challenges in May, and the first story DLC in June.
