PlayStation Plus: The most expensive level probably with trial versions of new titles

In June, PlayStation Plus will undergo a major overhaul and will be placed in three tiers as a true competitor to Xbox Game Pass. At the most expensive level, you can apparently look forward to regular trial versions of the latest top hits.

According to a new report by Game Developer Sony also wants to offer regular so-called game trials of the latest hits on the most expensive level of the new PlayStation Plus from June. It says there that game developers for the PlayStation must also make such demo versions available; these should be at least two hours long. The requirement should apply to games that cost more than $34.

An official confirmation from Sony for this report is not yet available. However, it would be anything but unlikely that the company would want to make the expensive PlayStation Plus Premium level even more interesting for the players in this way. This already provides access to a number of PS4 and PS5 full versions as well as hundreds of classics from earlier PlayStation days.

The report goes into a bit more detail, emphasizing that developers are given up to three months after the actual release to make a trial version available via PlayStation Store. If a developer wants to opt for a classic demo model instead of such a trial version, this will be checked on a case-by-case basis. Excluded from the new rule are new PSVR games.
