New is not always better! Even Barney Stinson now knows that. The following new games, whether as a remaster, remake or reboot, have damaged the reputation of the originals more than to give them a new shine, as Warcraft 3: Reforged has recently shown. These ten titles should have been aged with dignity.
10th place: Silent Hill HD Collection
Because the source code of Silent Hill 2 and 3 had been lost, Konami entrusted Studio Hijinx with the development for the HD Collection – from scratch. It could only go wrong. The remaster was plagued by countless bugs: disappearing textures, missing sound effects and game crashes were the order of the day. The developers also allowed themselves great artistic freedom that ruined the atmosphere of the game more than once. The resynchronization could not capture the charm of the original either. And only those responsible know why Hijinx thought it necessary to replace some fonts with Comic Sans. A patch for the PS3 version fixed the worst bugs, but Xbox 360 owners were left out in the rain. At least they got their money back for this mess.
