The season 6 finale of “Outlander” ended on a cliffhanger. This is not surprising, but fans of the novel may have been surprised that the story of Diana Gabaldon’s sixth book was not told to the end.
This is because season 6 was significantly shorter due to the cumbersome shooting during the corona pandemic and Caitriona Balfe’s pregnancy. Of the 12 planned episodes, only 8 episodes remained. Season 7, which is currently being filmed, is now 16 episodes long and includes the four episodes planned for Season 6.
Im Interview mit Entertainment Weekly Balfe and Sam Heughan give a preview of the new episodes, but of course they are still covered. That’s not surprising, since season 7 is still a few months away, but then again, the further course of the story is of course already known from the “Outlander” novels.
It has not yet been revealed why Tom Christie is accompanying Claire to Wilmington, nor does anyone want to admit that Claire will not be murdered in season 7 for the murder of Malva. But every fan can certainly foresee that “Outlander” will not let Claire die at the beginning of season 7.
While season 6 focused more on drama in and around Fraser’s Ridge, season 7 will focus more on the Revolutionary War, which season 6 only touched on. So it remains dangerous for Jamie and Claire!
