Director Will Byles has confirmed another interesting feature of upcoming horror game The Quarry. So you can – at least to a limited extent – also undo the death of main characters and thus eradicate fatal mistakes.
In an interview, director Will Byles discussed a new feature in Supermassive’s latest horror prank, The Quarry. Opposite to SegmentNext
“Death Rewind is a retry mechanic, but it’s not unlocked until you complete the story once or purchase the Deluxe Edition of the game,” explains Byles. “You are essentially given three lives, which enable you to undo a character’s death using one of those lives. You are then transported back to the moment you made a critical decision that ultimately resulted in death of the character results so that you can make a different decision.”
As was recently announced, The Quarry will have a whopping 186 different endings to offer. In this way, after a first run, you can experience up to three more endings in which other characters survive, at least to a limited extent.
Basically, The Quarry should remain a game with a high replayability value. A run should keep you busy for around 10 hours; The game should also motivate you to explore alternative paths and make different decisions.
The game has meanwhile reached gold status and is therefore complete. The Quarry will be released on June 10th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
