League of Legends Challenges launch tomorrow – here’s how they work!

challenges, Heres, launch, League, Legends, tomorrow, work

League of Legends is finally here challenge starting from tomorrow May 7. As the popular MOBA’s answer to achievements, players will be able to go out and earn tokens in over 300 unique missions. Each challenge has its own tier, and completed challenges combine to form a shiny new tier for you to show off to your teammates and random players in solo queue.

Once they’re live, you can set your sights on specific challenges and level them up from Iron tier all the way to Master tier, and some all the way up to Challenger. If you’re familiar with League of Legends, you know that only a small percentage of players can be challengers at any one time, and that applies to these new challenges as well.

This means that if you want to be one of the best at taking early barons, clearing jungle camps, or destroying towers in your area, you’ll have to defend your position against a horde of hungry newcomers vying for your spot .

But how does it all work? Well, as soon as the challenge update goes live tomorrow, you’ll see a new tab in your profile menu. There, you’ll be able to view your overall challenge rank via the large crystal on the right side of the client, and you can browse individual challenges just like your skins, summoner icons, etc.

A challenge menu filled with tons of goals you’ll try to achieve in ranked play.

Challenges are divided into five categories, all of which depend on a certain challenge style you are comfortable with. all these are:

  • imagination: All about finding out-of-the-box solutions to tough problems. Examples include killing an enemy recently healed by a healing pack in ARAM and killing 20 minions within 3 seconds.
  • professional knowledge: Skill challenge. All about playing your best.Examples include winning a match without dying, and winning a match with 100 or more CS than your opponent
  • Teamwork and Strategy: All about feats that require you and your team to work together. Examples include claiming Dragon Souls 4 – 0 and getting an ace between minion spawn and 15 minutes.
  • veteran: A lifetime challenge. All about achieving impressive feats in multiple games. Examples include getting pentakill and winning with different mythical items.
  • collect: Focus on collecting cosmetics. Examples include collecting summoner icons and champions.

There are also legacy challenges. These are time-limited missions that will disappear permanently once an event has passed, although they will not affect your total challenge rating or total points. In short, they’re all there to show off to other achievers.

If you don’t care about your challenge score ranking, why would you? Well, when you get into a light-hearted League of Legends game, completing challenges provides titles that can be displayed in the loading screen. So, those who are tired of simply showing off the fancy skin on their hands will have a completely different avenue to show off if they put in enough time to complete their challenge.
