SEGA and Paramount will be popping the champagne this week as it has emerged that the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie is now the top-grossing video game movie of all-time. SEGA revealed that Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has generated a total of $331 million at the box office. In comparison, the original Sonic the Hedgehog movie made $319 million back in 2017. The Sonic the Hedgehog 2 film made $162 million in the United States alone, breaking the previous film’s $148 million. During the new movie’s debut weekend it had made $71 million, whereas the fist Sonic the Hedgehog movie made $58 million. Last month the Uncharted movie also surpassed $300 million at the international box office.
