Originally, the multiplayer was supposed to appear together with Resident Evil Village, but Resident Evil RE:Verse was first outsourced independently and then also postponed. Now there is finally a sign of life again.
Where is the promised multiplayer Resident Evil RE:Verse after Resident Evil Village was released in May last year? It had recently become suspiciously quiet about the multiplayer part after it had been postponed to the current year 2022 – but now there is at least hope for news soon.
The release of Resident Evil RE:Verse could possibly be closer than we would like to think at the moment. A new age classification in Europe now gives reason to believe, because the Stadia version was scrutinized by the PEGI in local areas.
Accordingly, the zombie title’s multiplayer received an age rating of 18 and over – a circumstance that was probably to be expected in this form. Not much more is known than the classification that has taken place, and the PEGI classification does not mention a date either. Nevertheless: It had recently become so quiet around RE:Verse that fans of the horror franchise should be jumping for joy that anything seems to be moving forward at all.
Side note: The PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions of RE:Verse were already ranked on May 7th last year before the release was noticeably delayed. The fact that the Stadia version is now appearing on the scene at least suggests that there has been a noticeable improvement.
RE:Verse will be a six-player deathmatch title that will not only feature monsters from Resident Evil, but also well-known heroes and villains like Claire Redfield, Leon, Ada, Jill, Hunk and Chris. Once a player dies in a match, their body becomes a bioweapon that other players can use against opponents.
