After months without news about it, the Warner Bros. Games Montreal studio finally broke its silence about the new game from the DC universe. Director Geoff Ellenor revealed a new 13-minute video featuring gameplay from Gotham Knights which shows what it will be like to play as Nightwing and Red Hood, but also gave us some bad news: the PS4 and Xbox One versions of this game have been cancelled.

Why were the PS4 and Xbox One versions canceled? Gotham Knights?

In the official statement, the studio simply said that this decision was made because “they want players to have the best possible gaming experience.”

New gameplay video

You can watch the 13-minute video showing Nightwing and Red Hood in action below.

As you can see, the gameplay reminds us of past titles in the Batman Arkham saga, but it is clear that there will be strong differences between the characters. Nightwing is much faster and more athletic, while Red Hood is slower and heavier, but can attack from a distance.

Detective Vision is back under a new name (AR Vision, apparently) and we’ll be able to use the Batcycle to navigate the streets of the city. Of course, we can also do it from above and each character will have a different way of doing it. Red Hood, for example, can use his mystical powers to jump into the air.

The gameplay video of Gotham Knights We also got a look at the base at the belfry (Belfry). In addition to selecting missions, equipment and appearance, it seems that we will be able to interact with other characters there.

Gotham Knights will go on sale on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Those who pre-purchase the game will receive the 233 Kustom skin for the Batcycle.
