Injection Pi 23 Ars Regia continues the adventures we saw in the Malaga countryside in the first part
After a somewhat irregular first part, the Spanish studio Abramelin Games returns to the fray with the continuation of its horror saga. Injection Pi 23 Ars Regia is the sequel to Injection Pi 23 No Name, No Number, where we will continue with the same horror mechanics, mental delusions and puzzles that we had back then. in love with survival horror more classic you may see this saga with good eyes, despite the technical problems that have dragged on since its first iteration. Want to fight against all kinds of nightmares? Then do not miss our analysis.
The antithesis of southern joy
Villanueva de Tapia, a city of Malaga with less than 1,500 inhabitants, is the setting chosen by the studio to develop its work. Or at least, a much darker version of the city, where abominations and monsters roam its streets freely. Nightmares that coexist in the mind of our protagonist, a boy who has lost touch with society. Fortunately, all is not lost for our boy, as there is a glimmer of light in the face of all the darkness around him, although achieving salvation will not be an easy task.
To begin with, it should be noted that The Pi 23 Ars Regia injection becomes very difficult to understand without having played the first part. It seems obvious, but here it takes on a lot more weight. There is no summary of what happened before, there is no reference point in our first steps that tells us what to do and we start directly from chapter 9 of the game.
Put on the GPS if you get lost in town
As if it were a Silent Hill (apart from many distances) we will have to move through the streets of the abandoned city in search of clues that allow us to continue moving forward in history. Although there are other cut streets, the truth is that we will have a whole wide scenario where we can move with caution, avoiding being seen by the monsters that roam there. It is very curious to look at the small details that adorn each alley, with clear reminiscences of Andalusian towns and of course, Villanueva de Tapia itself. A very interesting exercise… although it may be the only one.
horror survival horror
Although the first thing that strikes you is the graphic section, it is not the barrier that prevents us from enjoying Injection Pi 23 Ars Regia. For me, the worst was the lack of goals from the first moment. There is no reason or end to everything we do. I found myself very lost in the landscape, and even getting into places that were a bit more specific, I didn’t really know what to look for there or what to do with the tools I found along the way. The game is full of puzzles to solve with the objects we find. Of course, you have to search thoroughly and without really knowing where or why.
Another problem is the enemies that come our way. Most of them “quietly wander” around their assigned location, and once they see us, they will chase us. If we observe these creatures for a while, we will soon know their weaknesses, and strengths. In theory, this is valid for knowing the best way to deal with them and to be able to exterminate them. And I say in theory because in the end, the most useful thing will be to lay the dust and leave the bug behind. Basically, once you leave your “comfort zone”, you will stop following us…
Conclusion of Pi 23 Ars Regia Injection
All this conglomeration of chess is scary… let’s spend rather little. Rather, it will be an internal struggle with ourselves to understand how the title works. An extra effort to understand what is happening. And not everyone is ready to jump through that hoop. The idea of seeking a “retro” horror experience is fantastic, and we’ve recently seen how sagas like Outbreak, Tormented Souls or the recently reviewed The Enigma Machine manage to keep you tense without losing an iota of its classic essence.
I guess those who played the first role will find reasons and reasons to pick up this sequel. But those who come from new like that was my case had better abstain. And what has been said is no longer a narrative problem where we don’t discover anything because we don’t know the context before this new adventure. It’s a problem of poor playable approach, or that there’s no clearer thread or goals that keep us interested in what’s happening on screen. Hopefully we will see this corrected in the new work of the study.
