Sonos Ray: Compact soundbar for less than 300 dollars

Sonos is expanding the portfolio with a new compact soundbar that doesn’t completely empty your bank account. But this is not the only news from the manufacturer.

With the Beam and Arc soundbars, Sonos is actually quite well positioned, but the manufacturer is launching a new compact soundbar and it sounds quite interesting in terms of price. The Sonos Ray costs “only” 299 dollars and should be available in black and white from June 7th.

Ray is compatible with a wide range of streaming services and after a simple setup, it’s easy to control movies, music and more – simply via the Sonos app, TV remote, Apple AirPlay 2 and more. And of course the Ray is also well suited for games. With other Sonos speakers, Ray becomes the center of the multiroom system.

Despite its compact dimensions of only 559 x 95 x 71 mm, the Ray wants to provide a rich sound thanks to a bass reflex system, elliptical midrange speakers and clear tweeters. Trueplay via iOS also allows you to adapt the sound to your premises. Speech enhancement is available, and the Ray also supports Stereo PCM, Dolby Digital and DTS Digital Surround.

Other innovations include the fact that the Sonos Roam smart speakers are now available in three additional colors (Olive, Wave, Sunset). These new variants are available now for 199 dollars.

Finally, the manufacturer presents its own system for voice control with Sonos Voice Control. In the future, Sonos Voice Control will be the easiest way to control music and the Sonos system with your voice and also ensure maximum data protection. Sonos Voice Control will be available June 1 in the US and later this year in France. Other markets will follow.
