Capcom shares new sales figures Resident Evil Village in its latest financial report.
According to the presentation (slide 20), the game has sold 6.1 million units since its release in May 2021.
Resident Evil Village shipped more than 3 million copies in its first four days of release, making it the third-fastest-selling game in the series, tied with 2019’s Resident Evil 2. As of July, the game had moved 4.5 million units, reaching 5 million units the following October.
The game also had the best Steam release of any Resident Evil game.
Overall, Resident Evil Series Since the first game, created by Shinji Mikami and Tokuro Fujiwara and released on the PlayStation in 1996, has sold 125 million units.
It’s Capcom’s best-selling video game series, the best-selling horror game series, and has seen film adaptations ranging from the big screen to Netflix.
