Two years ago Google threw in the towel with Allo and they bet everything on the RCS protocol, also known as "WhatsApp for employees". Since then RCS deployment has been slow, until Google decides to use it by jumping on the operator.
In October of last year a conspiracy arose enable RCS on almost any Android phone, regardless of region and operator. This strategy will stop working by the end of February.
The tactics are gone
Chat features, as RCS support is officially called within the Android app, allows you to add advanced features to a conversation such as writing tips, reading notifications, high resolution photos or posting photos using Wi-Fi and data. It's the same thing as a messaging application like WhatsApp "universal", as long as both you and the person have active chat functions.
According to official Google data, chat services are available in Spain, France, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States, although it is important that operators also support them. So far there was a plan to force funding, but Google has announced to its organizations that the trick has been calculated for days.
As we prepare to take parts of chat to multiple regions, users who have used them for illegal tactics in areas where chat features are not available will find them disabled by the end of February. For these users chat functions will be disabled for all application types, including older versions.
This change applies especially to those who work for RCS internally countries where it is officially introduced (Spain, France, Mexico, USA and the United Kingdom), which will remain without support until further notice. Those who have applied the strategy in the officially supported countries will be transferred to the fraud screening server to the official channel, for further processing.
