Publisher Electronic Arts reportedly has six racing games in the works, including Project CARS 4 and F1 23.
At Electronic Arts they really go full throttle when it comes to racing games. According to a report by Tom Henderson on Executer, the publisher has six games in the genre in development.
So Codemasters Cheshire and Criterion Games teamed up to work on the next Need for Speed and the franchise in general. This also includes a Need for Speed for mobile devices, which is said to be an open world racing game.
The Codemasters Birmingham studio, on the other hand, takes care of Formula One. However, not only is the recently announced F1 22 in development at Codemasters, but the successor F1 23 has also been in the works for some time. The latter aims to be a true next-gen game with an engine upgrade. An introduction of “F1 World” is to complement this year’s “F1 Life” in F1 23, possibly even with private jets.
Slightly Mad Studios is currently working on Project CARS 4. This part aims to go back to its hardcore roots as a racing sim. The development should go well.
Also another part to WRC racing is according to the report in the making. The next World Rally Championship is scheduled to be released annually for consoles and PC between 2023 and 2027. The Unreal Engine is said to be used now. In addition, preparations are to be made for a mobile offshoot.
