Changing the date, time or date format on the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 seems impossible. A corresponding option is missing. That’s how it works anyway.
There are several formats for time and date worldwide. If you want to use a different time or date/time format on your Xiaomi Mi Band 6, you face a problem. Because at first glance there is no corresponding option.
Mi Band 6: Date and time (format) firmly bound to the smartphone
In fact, with the Xiaomi fitness tracker, the time and date displayed on the device depend on the smartphone. This means that the Mi Band 6 shows exactly the same time and date as your cell phone.
Ergo, you have to change the time or date on the smartphone in order to be able to change it on the Mi Band 6. There is no option to set the time or date independently of the smartphone. The time format is also firmly tied to the smartphone.
Date format can still be changed
While the time, date and time format are linked to the smartphone and cannot be changed, you can at least change the date format by setting the language of the Mi Band 6 to English. In the following we will show you how to do this.
Now tap on “Profile” at the bottom.
Select the device whose language you want to change.
Now tap on “Band Settings”.
Open the language settings by tapping on “Language”.
Now select English as the language to change the date format of the Mi Band 6.
Complete! Now the date format of your Mi Band 6 has been changed to month/day instead of day/month (MM/DD instead of DD/MM).
In another guide, we will show you how to set the stride length on the Mi Band 6 and thus achieve better tracking results.
