With the advent of MacOS Catalina and the restructuring that brought it to different parts of the system, some changes were coming to Safa. One of the things we find most readily true is that now Safari asks for permission before collecting items of different web pages.
As soon as we accept the jokey Syrian will remember our choices and act accordingly. We can change these decisions and the general Safari behavior to be appropriate our browsing habits.
How to allow downloads
It's easy, when we visit a web page and want to download a file the first time it is presented with dialog box which means the following:
Do you want to allow downloads on "applesfera.com"?
In the "Websites" preferences panel, you can change which websites can download the files.
We just choose the option we want. Let it continue by downloading and remembering our selection. Cancel will stop downloading and ask again in the future.
If this option is not provided when downloading a file from a web page, it means we have been asked before or shown you manually again Safari remembers our favorite things.
How to change settings
As long as we click Allow in the download dialog box, Safari remembers this option for the webpage we are on. Later we can change our choices. The steps are as follows:
- We open the app Safari on our Mac.
- On the menu Safari we choose Your preference …
- We add a tab Websites.
- In the left sidebar we select it Download.
- Under the heading Websites configured we choose between Allow, Disable either Ask next to our favorite website name.
What do I do if I want to allow all downloads?
Apple also offers this option, so any web page you visit will have permission to download the files. It should be noted that, although it may be more comfortable, it is a very unsafe option. The steps, however, are as follows:
- We open the app Safari on our Mac.
- On the menu Safari we choose Your preference …
- We add a tab Websites.
- In the left sidebar we select it Download.
- In the section When you visit other websites we choose Allow.
And that's easy, next time we download Safari files we will know how to authorize the download and if we change our mind, we cancel this authorization.
