The Xbox Series is hitting hard in Japan.
Xbox Series S sales in Japan exceeded last week those of PlayStation 5this is the first time that an Xbox console has outsold a PlayStation in the same week since 2014.
According to Famitsu, during the week of May 9-15, the Xbox Series S console sold 6,120 units. Sales of the disc version of the PlayStation 5 and the Digital Edition consoles were 2,240 and 493 units, respectively, for a combined total of 2,693 units.
The last time a similar situation occurred was when The Xbox One was first released in Japan in 2014con 23,562 units sold in its launch weekin front of the 6,373 PlayStation 4 consoles sold during the same period.
As we told you before, Xbox Series X|S sales have already surpassed Xbox One sales in Japan. Microsoft understands that the Japanese market, as well as the Asian area in general, is important and says that Xbox is experiencing phenomenal growth in these lands.
