Alien is one of the absolute cult sci-fi brands and has already received several successful game implementations, most recently Alien: Isolation. Another game project with a Gears-of-War creator in a managerial role could almost have come about now.
The lead designer of the first three parts of the action series Gears of War is known to be Cliff Bleszinski, who did his own thing after a short creative break and founded the studio Boss Key Productions. With this he worked on LawBreakers, which looked promising, but quickly turned into a financial flop due to the changing game industry. After the game was discontinued, the developer studio was closed – and this may now be particularly unfortunate.
As Bleszinski himself confirmed on Twitter, he was apparently already in negotiations with 20th Century Fox for Boss Key Productions. In focus: a new game implementation of the well-known sci-fi franchise Alien.
Ripley would be alive and be your "Cortana / Anya." You'd play as grown newt. On Earth. Weyland-Yutani are weaponizing the aliens in a Black Mesa style facility and, of course, all hell breaks loose.
Your robotic pal i.e. Bishop? A new one named "Casey" after her doll in aliens.

Accordingly, Boss Key Productions could have worked on a new alien game that would have brought an adult Rebeca Newt into focus. Newt is known to the brand as a small, blonde and about 10 year old girl who was found by Ripley on the planet LV-426 and later adopted by her. The new game would have jumped in time and would have been in the great alien universe a few years later. Nevertheless, according to Bleszinski, protagonist Ripley would also have had an appearance in an advisory role in the style of Cortana.
If the project had been implemented, you would have been able to look forward to a cinematic first-person shooter located directly on Earth, which should have had a lot in common with Gears of War. Unfortunately, God's plans were pushed back in 2017 when Fox was in talks about a Disney takeover.
In the meantime, Boss Key Productions has also closed its doors and Cliff Bleszinski has initially withdrawn from the gaming sector. It remains to be seen how it will continue with him, but also with the alien franchise.
