The Apple Watch 8 could finally get a new design. Especially since the design changes from the Apple Watch 6 to the 7 were hardly relevant, we would be happy about a breath of fresh air for the upcoming model. According to new rumours, this is not at all unlikely.
The rumors were fueled by the Twitter user ShrimpApplePro. On the platform, the leaker announces that the Apple Watch’s display will be flat and that it will most likely be the design of the Apple Watch 8. However, he does not commit himself to the model.
In another tweet, ShrimpApplePro reveals that it will have more information on the subject next month and that the display will soon be ready for mass production. Both tweets including a render of the design with a flat display can be found here:

At the upcoming WWDC, Apple will also present innovations for the Apple operating systems. Here says Mark Gurman meaningful upgrades
for Watch OS 9 ahead:

Apple could finally deliver a long-awaited feature with the operating system
The flat design is already a year old
The flat design for the Apple Watch has not just been leaked. Leaker and YouTuber Jon Prosser published render images of a flat Apple Watch last year. In his latest video he says that he had already expected a flat design with the Apple Watch 7.
As we now know, that was not the case. But also in a video from a year ago, Prosser said that the flat display only came with the Apple Watch 8 or even one Rugged Apple Watch
could be used. The robust smartwatch is rumored to appear with the Apple Watch 8 and is aimed at outdoor enthusiasts.
It is therefore quite possible that the flat displays will find their home in this model. Due to the new rumours, Jon Prosser has also made new render images showing what an Apple Watch with a flat display could look like:
Apple Watch 8 and more are likely to come later this year
If Apple follows its usual cycle with the new smartwatch model, we can expect the release of the Apple Watch 8 in September this year. We don’t have any official information on the price either. In all probability, however, this will be in the same price range as the Apple Watch 7. This cost around 430 dollars to start with.
Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is also just around the corner. It takes place between June 6th and 10th. Here Apple will mainly provide insights into the company’s software. You can read about the developments we expect here in the following article:
