One of the things Square Enix is known for is investing in small projects, one of them is The DioField Chronicle. It’s a title that promises a deep real-time tactical RPG experienceas the story unfolds in a fantasy world.
By the time the game was given a somewhat wide release date of 2022, since then we haven’t heard anything else. However, it is possible that we will receive new news soon since the title has received the age rating of the ESRB. Just these notes usually arrive close to release datesso it is possible that we will soon have a concrete date for The DioField Chronicle.
In the classification itself we can read the following: “It’s a role play in which players control mercenaries fighting rival factions in a fantasy world. From a top-down perspective, players engage in tactical battles against human soldiers and fantastical creatures (e.g. wolves, dragons, undead). Players select attack moves from a menu while your party members move around the battlefield; characters use guns, swords, and spells/energy blasts to defeat enemies. The scenes show more cases of violence and blood: figures impaled by swords; soldiers fighting with swords/spears, between splatters of blood; still images of figures lying in pools of blood. In one of the stories, a villain kidnaps the women of the village and forces them to work in a brothel.
